It seems that many who review this diet are unrealistic. They are touting the fact that they weigh x number of pounds and are dropping 40, 50, 60 pounds in 6 weeks. That's 7-10 pounds a week. Give me a freakin' break! That is totally unrealistic.
I started this diet at 169.6 pounds. I'm going in to my 4rth week or so and I am down 5 pounds. By the end of the 6th week, I hope to be down to 160 pounds. I'm not sure I will get there, but this seems like a realistic goal.
In summary and in conclusion, I think the diet is useful WITHIN the proper realistic boundaries. A pound or two of weight loss a week is a great goal. Seven to 10 pounds means that you are either a liar or in la la land.

I just started the diet for the last 10 days and lost 7 lbs in the first week it was really hard but I did no cheating drank 60oz of water and ate less then 500 calories for the day. It can be done if you don't cheat and follow the rules of the diet book.

Steve, I understand that your weight loss on the program may have not been as aggressive as others. In my case, I have been on the program One week as of today. I started on Sept. 29th at a weight of 204lbs. Today is Oct. 6th and I am at 194.4lbs. I am pleased with the progress so far and am seeking a goal of 180lbs. I may or may not get there I am not sure. I know I am going to give the program a sincere effort to achieve the goal. I am not a liar or in la la land. Every person's experience may differ depending on how disciplined they are on the program or any other host of reasons.

I just completed my first week of the diet. I am 6 feet tall and my starting weight was 202.6. My weight this morning was 193.2. By rapid calculation that is 9.4 pounds in my first week. I am neither a liar nor am I in la la land. This is my second time on the diet. The first time, approximately 4 months ago, I was on the diet only 19 days. I lost 18 pounds. Not only do you lose weight on this diet, the inflammation in your body is greatly reduced. I am 66 years old and most of my annoying pain and stiffness is gone.

I'm on my 4th week and have lost 21 lbs and my wife has lost 23 lbs. If you follow the program and abide by the doctor's recommendations or modifications, then you will lose the weight. Then the maintenance plan for a couple more weeks should help you keep it off.

IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF WEIGHT TO LOOSE YOU WILL LOOSE MORE THEN A PERSON WHO ONLY HAS A FEW LBS TO LOOSE. DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF WITH ANY ONE ELSE.. I LOOSE VERY SLOW , BUT i AM Loosing sorry about the capital letters. I did not intend to use capitals.
